Today, my Stephen graduated from Vanderbilt.

My beautiful, strong Stephen. And today was the last day we will ever hold each other’s hand and look into each other’s eyes and say “I love you.” Today was the last day we will ever kiss each other. Today was the last day we were able to love each other unreservedly and pretend that we never have to be apart. Today was all too short. Eternity would have been too short.

I am hopelessly in love, and I am broken.

Vanderbilt Catholic Leaving Campus Over Policy

Next year we will no longer be a registered student organization.
Does this mean we will be any less active on campus? No way in heaven.

Last night, Stephen and I went on an adventure.

First we climbed down a manhole into a steam tunnel (pic 1). The steam from the power plant travels through these big pipes into different buildings. This tunnel leads to the hospital. So we walked through the tunnel until we came out at the hospital (pic 2). Then we climbed the stairs to the top, climbed up a ladder (pic 3) and came out on the roof of Vanderbilt Hospital, where the giant sign is (pic 4). It was an amazing view of the Nashville skyline (pic 5).

We also went to the top of MRB3, which involved a lot of climbing of metal beams and saying things like, “If I fall and die, it is totally your fault.”

It was soooo much fun. I can’t wait for our next adventure!

Vandy! Vandy! OH HELL YEAH!!!
charlottehassen:

It started when Kedren got the And 1 with 1:30 to go and I felt my chest tighten. Then Festus hit both free throws with 44 seconds left and my eyes started to well. When John smiled between his two free throws with 14 seconds left, I couldn’t hold back anymore.
Congrats to Jeff, John, Festus, Lance, Brad, Steve, Kedren, Dai-Jon, Rod, and the rest of the Commodores on winning Vanderbilt’s first SEC Championship in 61 years and for twice accomplishing what no other Vanderbilt team has done even once—make me cry unabashed tears of joy.

The Fallout From Christian Legal Society
“Yes, you just heard the vice chancellor of Vanderbilt University tell students that they shouldn’t let their religious views intrude on their decisionmaking. That their religious beliefs should not guide their day-to-day actions. That people who reject faith in Jesus Christ should be given a chance as leaders of a Christian group (he later adds that Muslim groups must retain leaders who have lost faith in Allah). And to top it off, he uses the fact that as a Catholic, he has no problem with the abortions performed in Vanderbilt’s hospital as an example of what is expected.”
An article for the folks connected to Vanderbilt University.

Which would be why I called him a heretic. Publicly.
